I was asked an interesting question about the rust art I have been making. The question was how I came about making this kind of art, what inspired me, etc.

Well……A close friend of mine who knew I made art (I was not showing yet at this time) asked me if I would like to be a part of an art benefit. It was a group called H.O.P.E. They raise funds for the Orphans of Darfur. What they do is the woman in the couple who are the main duo core of the HOPE organization will choose a photograph once a year that she has taken. This photograph is then given to several different local artists who are then asked to do a piece based on the photograph, in other words their interpretation of the image. …

I’ve been reading about what’s been going on in France with the forced expulsion and terrorizing of the Rom people. It has been very hard to comprehend how in this era, in this day and age, where human rights are a subject everyone is familiar with, and progress seemed to be being made albeit slowly, that this criminal “ethnic cleansing” could actually be taking place.

I am a part of that race. My heart is bleeding for these people. …

Big Cat Rescue is a wonderful organization. They rescue big cats and rare cross breeds from people who thought they could raise or breed big cats, but couldn’t manage. They have all kinds of cats including: savannahs, lions, tigers and panthers. They also rescue from zoo’s and cat breeders. …

I have always felt a deep connection to wolves. They are beautiful, intelligent and badly misunderstood animals. They are an absolute necessity to the balance of nature’s ecosystem.

Wolf Haven International is a wonderful non-profit rescue for wolves that were either abandoned, or failed attempts at domestication as pets. Some people think wolves are dogs, but they could not be more wrong. …
