Wolf Haven International

I have always felt a deep connection to wolves. They are beautiful, intelligent and badly misunderstood animals. They are an absolute necessity to the balance of nature’s ecosystem.

Wolf Haven International is a wonderful non-profit rescue for wolves that were either abandoned, or failed attempts at domestication as pets. Some people think wolves are dogs, but they could not be more wrong. You wouldn’t try to keep a grizzly bear or a shark as a pet, so why people think they can or should domesticate a wild wolf is beyond me. They also rescue wolves from zoos and other places that cannot keep them. When they are found hurt and cannot be returned to the wild, Wolf Haven International comes to the rescue. They are wonderful people doing a wonderful thing. You can visit their facility, see the wolves, and have a connection to the particular wolves you sponsor, if you want to. This opportunity for interaction is very valuable, as it helps to educate people about the wolves. They have a large property, and although their areas are fenced in, the wolves get to live in a large forested area instead of a cage or a pen. Wolf Haven International needs funds to keep it going and are sponsored entirely through donations from the public.
