Ahhhhh beautiful Sunday…..

Hello people,

Well it is a beautiful May sunday today, the day after the perigee Moon and what a moon it was! I looked up at the sky yesterday evening and it was so massive and bright. It hit me in a very interesting way. It made me feel as though everything everywhere was moving in synch. I realized that I along with millions and millions ,possibly billions of people were probably looking up at this moon all together all at the same time. People in war torn countries, people in space, people on the other side of the world where the seasons are opposite, all of us…… gazing at this beautiful moon. It gave me a profound sense of peace and at that moment I felt so grateful for all of my blessings.

I will admit that I have been completely caught up in this new business I and my partners have launched. It has been a very interesting and challenging process going from being a creative to being a creative / business person. My lack of internet skills and crazy schedule have prevented me from being able to update everyone on the progress on the biz. We have been picked up by several of the biggest 5 star eco resorts in the state, fabulous places, amazingly beautiful places as well as several of the most prestigious stores. It has been so satisfying to see that people really appreciate the fact that we are doing things in a completely new and different way by going completely ecological with the line. Personally when I know that something has been made by hand with love and utmost care it makes it far more special. So long story short I am very pleased and proud.

I had to put pretty much everything else on hold and I am starting to really miss playing music and making art so I have decided to discipline myself with my use of time and create more “me” time. I’ve done a bit of traveling which is nice, just around the state but it is such a gorgeous time of year that it’s been a lovely treat.

My next big goal is to get my kickstarter up and running. I need to shoot a video and get it edited which may present somewhat of a challenge but I will get it done eventually (hopefully sooner than later). It has been really cool to watch the response to the single that we briefly released as a limited edition art piece a while ago. It seems as if it’s popularity is growing! yay! Music is such a personal thing. It’s about as personal as you can get and being that it has been something I’ve done all my life but kept pretty much to myself, letting it out and sharing it and getting such an amazingly positive response has been life changingly cool. I haven’t really ever been one for massive self promotion and I guess now in this new media age that is something that seems to have become somewhat of a requirement. I do not have a “team” of people that I pay out there to promote me, so please spread the word if you like what I have done so far.

Gingey the super cat had another short bout with his breathing troubles but I gave him his little steroids and he recovered quickly thank god. My two other kitty girls are fine and enjoying this quickly warming weather along with myself.

I’m not sure why but lately I have been obsessing a bit on the idea of moving permanently to San Francisco. I have always loved that city and it reminds me alot of Vancouver -it being on the water and having seasons and all. the Sun and I as much as I do love it’s warmth are not really all that compatible skinwise.

I am hoping a decent script will head my way soon as I am also missing the acting a bit. I did an indie last year but that was LAST YEAR and the itch is back.

I hope you are all enjoying this spring wherever in this great big world you may be and that 2012 is treating you kindly. I really appreciate all the responses and letters that you send. I am such a lucky and blessed human being to have so much support and love sent my way. It really blows my mind and I send all of that love and light right back out to you all.

many XXXXXX’s and OOOOOOO’s

Love

F

    Dear Fairuza,

In my naivety I tend to think, all you need to do is ask what sort of film you wanted to be in?

My sci-fi short ‘The Wormcast’ available on Mam Tor Publishing, plug plug, was inspired by you, and Hollywood came knocking, I rushed the treatment, I think I self sabotaged honestly.

My band, TV show and occasional factotum, means I’m too busy to focus on writing, or anything. Though I still get interviewed from time to time about the story.

..There are thousands of writers aching for you to bring their words to life.

‘Film’ is a really odd process, of snake pits, luncheons and half read emails. I don’t like the falsehood of craft as product, art as lifestyle, worth as column inches. I do not have a business head, as it flies in the face of my creative process.

I’m still waiting to write a press release for half the stuff I’ve actually done. Fame is groomed around product. If you like dumb horror movies, check out The Scar Crow, plug plug, premiered at Dances with Film in LA.

I’m certain if people thought they could hire you, the phone will ring!!

I’m aware ‘I’ undersell myself. But I’ve always been a stickler for make it my way on my own, which I realise now is totally naive, it holds the satisfaction of, this is my work.. even when I know it should be different. Erk… then it just shoots me square in the foot.

Instead of hire animators, I’m looking to learn animation, with an eye on Pixar, or my friends business MADEFIRE also in SF. Trying to get a placement possibly in the 3rd year. I start in September.

Then the music comes up, and making ‘that record’, taking what I’ve learned over the years, and actually making it, rather than playing all the parts, as I’m prone to, getting some players in, and a producer and crafting it. ‘professionally’ But..

New media has all but made ‘all media’ a ‘mixtape’ of the modern age. And I’m broke.

I got an email from North Carolina band Stephaniesid, looking to cover my song ‘your friends don’t want you to change’.

So maybe that’ll be the way for me?

You can live for tomorrows too much.

My point is, I think you just need to ask. You have more fans than follow you on twitter!

My friend Gary Erskine who is a huge fan of yours and comic artist of note, only started following you, coz I told him you were on it. So don’t EVER lose heart.

From ‘The Worst Witch’ to ‘Murder in the Heartland’, I thought you were dead, I mean where did she go? Why wouldn’t you be making movies every year? You were like my world as a kid. And I realise now, many kids like me, probably also ran away from home. I’m nothing special.

    My point being..

You have minions, some, incredibly talented people, dotted throughout the globe, who would gladly do your bidding just to work with/for you.

The only thing that you need to do is spell it out. It’s certain to fall at your door. You’re a muse to millions still. Believe me.

Pick your destination, choose your vehicle,

    And drive!

    Take care,
    Blessed be,

    Fairuza,

I see that you are making a video for Stormwinds. I think Kickstarter is an EXCELLENT idea and a perfect platform for your needs (I am a music lover and an internet marketer from NY). You have more than enough fans to back you. That would be the perfect option for funding.

I am not sure if this will help but My aunt’s cat had breathing problems and this helped a lot for her
“www.petwellbeing.com/products/cat-cough” . In case the link did not go through, it is called “NHV Respiratory Aid for Cats” and I believe it is herbal.

If you visualize the perfect script falling into your hands and imagine it as if it has already happened, you will most certainly get it. The universe has a funny way of rearranging itself to fit the needs of those with a vision and burning desire.

I have never posted on here before but I want to thank you for the music and for being you. I find myself looking at your website from time to time and wondering what you are up to. I really enjoy your work and your blogs.

    hello Fairuza!

I just watched the film ‘Waterboy’ (1998) starring you and Adam Sandler. An awesome movie which brought me laughter. I wish you all the best in life! :D

I have Googled you a million and one times, because I think you are just an amazing person & finally found a WEBSITE! I’m excited to keep up to date on your everyday things. Other than that, I’m glad your kitties are well. And that moon WAS amazing. And I’m excited for you on the business update. San Francisco sounds amazing. And… I hope a script does head your way, because I miss you!

    Anyways,
    love - Ariel xoxo

I too think the same thing as I gaze at our moon, a sense of unity. Mountains and oceans may stand between people, but no matter where you are in life the moon is one thing people all share. It’s nice to know you are aware of the essential fruits life has to offer.

If you do a kickstarter… Could one of your prize / level things be a meet and greet / date thing with you?

  8. Brian

    I’m the only commenter? Wtf?
Anyways…my name is Brian. Hi! xD
I would tell u my story like I would tell anyone who I sat down with for a talk…but we’re not sitting and you’re a busy woman..so…Here’s the short of it:
I saw you in The Craft and have followed you ever since. You’re acting ability along with being the most darkly beautiful girl I’d ever seen (I’m gay so I can say that without fear of offending u) caused me to grab every magazine cover and movie cover that I saw you on. I’m an indigo child and so I knew, even from your acting and editorials that you are a girl of the Light and a soulful creature. I appreciate that.
Anyways…gushing aside, I adore your work and unless you’re some kind of hideous monster evil person that nobody knows about, I’m pretty sure I’d love you lots in person as well! Am I still gushing? Shit! I did the same thing on Courtney Love’s wall…although, she tends to have problems with typing and comprehending so my gushing probably made her want to kill me….all that angeldust and whiskey, ya know?
SO…is this CD of yours out? I want it. I listened to the sample and loved your voice! Gimmie gimmie! xD
Totally ordering that sage candle too…need something in the background to purify my work space….onions absorb negativity if you cut one in half and leave the halves in the room and toss them out after 3 days…but that shit is ripe after 3 days! Ugh! The candle sounds much better!
My big lifelong dream had always been to open a metaphysical shop in Cali…maybe some day I can finally meet u in that way. Hey! Let me know about the music thing, ok? Take care…hope to see you on the big screen soon!

    Fairuza,

I tried leaving you a comment on “Return to Oz” but redirected me to here.

    L. Frank Baum in my opinion created such an incredible world with Oz.
    His imagination had no limits.
The Wizard Of Oz is amongst my top films of all time.
However, Return to Oz is not that much far from it, and in some respects, is even really a better film.

I love how dark the film feels from Dorothy leaving the farm to the ward into the river and arriving in Oz. There it never lets up from The Emerald City, to Mombi’s, than to Gnome King’s Mountain. GREAT!

Filling the shoes of Judy Garland as Dorothy by no means is an easy task. Somewhere Over The Rainbow has to be the most popular song sung in a movie of all time.
Fairuza your performance in “Return to OZ” is simply amazing.
You carry the film through its entirety as Dorothy Gale. You are so sincere and concerned for everyone around. You elude an unselfish and caring nature not every child at that age is able to portray or even as a human being possesses. You pull it off beautifully. Hats off! to you Fairuza.
I enjoyed the film alot and I am glad being able to go back for future viewings for each time making “Return to Oz” a better experience than the last Thank you.

    Hi Fairuza,

I just wanted to say I appreciate you supporting animal causes and I love hearing about your cats.

I try to do my part to help animals. I adopt senior dogs from high kill shelters. I have three dogs now. When one passes away that leaves room to adopt another one. Two months ago I adopted a 13 year old belgian sheperd mix from a shelter in LA. He was dumped at the shelter with a companion ( a little chihuahua) so I took both and had them flown to me here in new jersey. Life is not always fair so I feel adopting animals that have little chance to find a home someway evens the score a bit. It makes me very happy to do this. Thanks again. Please keep us posted when you will be making a new movie.
