Finished Phase 1!
Hi all,
I am SO HAPPY!
I finally finished the first phase of the book, getting all the lettering done! It’s taken me weeks of work,patiently sitting and cutting,glueing and arranging the words poison pen style. phew! glad it’s done!
Gingersnap has now decided I am his owner. He spent his first night here the night before last and although my girls were not pleased, he was just fine:) They hiss at him and he just yawns and purrs and cleans himself. What a studmuffin. No one has responded to the flyers. I wrote my phone number on his collar thinking that if he was owned by someone they would see that and call me but nada so far.
I’m itching to go play music. I might end up going down to my friends studio and jamming later, t’would be nice.
There’s this wonderful thing about going and jamming with different musicians because each time you do, you get new input, the creative process either grows or diminishes but feeling the air slam against your back from an amp, letting your instrument just soar and letting everything out, all your emotions all your energy, it’s the best thing, i really can’t explain how good it feels. Anyone out there reading this who play music knows exactly what I am talking about.
I’ve been asked to take part in putting together a documentary about American Gypsies. Im thinking that it might be an interesting project to take on. The world is definitely overdue for some more positive representations of The Roma people in general. Romani Gypsies are different from Irish Traveller Gypsies. In fact there are so many different kinds of Gypsies that we cannot REALLY be categorized. Food for thought.
I am thinking about starting to do some vlogs. Things I would like to share with you guys.
I am taking the T-shirts down for now and I’m going to do some more work on that whole idea so that you can see what they’re actually like. I’ve actually had many folks stop me on the street because they loved my T-shirt or My army jackets that I make and wear. I should take some pics so you can see.
It was another gorgeous almost summer like day here. I still have never gotten used to LA weather!! My plants are so happy, my flowers are blooming:) I think I am going to move again. The urge to travel is getting stronger ever day so we shall see…
anyway my loves, just wanted to say hello and keep you up to date.
Oh! before I forget!, I am having some of my old stuff (music) mastered off of tape. I was listening to it the other night and some of it is pretty darn good! heh! Darn….(lol). Heavy but good.

I think a documentary about American Gypsies would be a great project for you. Like most people, I know so little about them.
Sounds like Gingersnap has decided he’s YOUR owner. (That’s generally how cats perceive the situation, I’ve noticed.)
I would also like to see a documentary done. As you say, it’s long over due for the world at large to be exposed to a more positive view… dispel some of the myths. I know that “Gypsy” is a slur, but honestly… I’ve always found a romanticism to the word. It would be nice if the negative connotations could be removed from it.
I would like to see photos of the clothing you make… with the t-shirts, maybe you could take a photo of you wearing them, or arrange for someone to model for you… let people see what they look like on a body.
Excited to hear some of your older music! And thank you so much for telling me a bit about your violin, sounds like she has quite the history. Would delight in seeing a picture if you do ever decide to post one =)
Hey Fairuza! I met you Tuesday at the Oscar gifting suites along with your boyfriend Steven. I just wanted to thank-you for being for being such an inspriation to me. And Steven named me some pretty amazing bands that I checked out and was wondering if maybe you guys could show me some more. I can reply with some good bands as well. I had no clue you working on a book! I’m working on a script myself.Well anyway hope to hear from you guys soon.

Yes, welcome to Gingersnap’s family. Apparently he has deemed you worthy to be owned by him. lol. I support the Gypsy idea. I think it would be a worthwhile project. Definately hook us up with the old “heavy” stuff. It would be nice to hear. I wish you the best with your future endeavors. Ty

Theres a great band playing tonight called Balkan Beat Box. They’re this crazy mix of Balkan Brass band and almost reggae/dancehall hiphop influences. Theyre RAD>

HEY FAIRUZA!!!!! Sorry it took me forever to reply. Apparently I forgot my password lol. But damn I wish I would of got that response sooner. Lately (I would highly recommened) “It fit when I was a kid” Liars (crystal castles remix) and Lykke Li’s new album. Once again Im sorry it took a while to respond but since the gifting suite I wanted to tell you that Wild tigers I have known is one of my favorite movies (prob cus Im gay lol) but I think you did amazing in that movie.
