digital downloads temporarily suspended, please help.

HI guys,

This is a quick update to let you all know that my single will not be available for digital download for awhile.

I am having problems with fair accounting practices using the service known as tunecore. I was recommended this service by a friend in the music business. I was trying to do this the independent way through a service that was geared towards indie artists

however it seems that tunecore is not operating fairly and there are numerous testimonials on the internet that they are stealing artists royalties. They are being investigated by the FBI and facing numerous lawsuits. Basically they promise to get your music out there for a percentile fee.Thing is, they do get your music on to itunes and amazon.com but then they never send you your royalties and they claim false accountings of your earnings. This is what I am having to deal with now. I was hoping that the earnings made from these sales would help to pay for more recording but unfortunately, now i just have a law suit i have to go through. Big bummer. HUge Bummer i should say. If you would like to support me in this lawsuit please confirm with me through this site when and how many copies you bought so I can compare it to the numbers they are claiming. I know this is a hassle, its a hassle for me too. Thanks for your help in advance. It’s a shame that indie artists are being preyed upon by the same type of people who made up the model of the old business. Id be better off in a 360 deal with a label. Hah!

At least it’s been a gorgeous day outside, and there is a TON more music where this single came from:)

    God, how awful you have to go through all that. It’s enough of a struggle for independent artists as it is without people or companies finding ways to rip us off. Anyway, I bought a copy of “Stormwinds” digitally and I’m SO glad I did because it’s just great. In fact, if you don’t get the money for it, I’d happily pay for it again. I hope you work everything out and are able to get back into the studio soon.

    This is so unfortunate and I’m sorry you’re having to deal with this. I don’t understand how people can be so horrible. I hope karma really does come back around!

    Hey pretty lady, it really stinks that there are so many greedy people out there who are willing to take advantage of anyone for their own gain. I’m sorry this happened to such a nice person as yourself. As I sent to you on Twitter, I did purchase the download from Itunes. I hope that everyone that did will help you in this endever!     It’s so sad to hear this, to even think that people would take such advantage of another like this.
    You always express such a beautiful, kind & generous nature and i know this will will come back to you throughout all this, and they learn from their actions!
    i purchased a digital download on itunes: 03/11/2010 and a physical copy from your site shortly before that.

    Oh sorry I thought you were talking about the physical copy of “Stormwinds. So… I bought a digital copy of Stormwind but I will buy one again if you don’t get the money, there is no problem! I think we all want that you’ll get the money to produce new songs, even if that means we have to pay a second time… We support you ;)

    Hey Fairuza, I’m sorry that you have to deal with all of this! I bought the single digitally from Itunes on 10/12/10. I bought the physical copy as well. Hope you get everything straightened out soon! I can’t wait for more music. I LOVE Stormwinds!

    ps I just watched Return to Oz this weekend for like the 100th time. Fave movie ever!

    wow, one would think an indie group would be above such behavior. Hope everything works out ok for you and all involved.
    I bought 1 copy of the digital download, according to amazon, it was on oct. 12.

    Hi Fairuza,
    I am so sorry to hear about an independent artist who is having trouble. I am confused though. I have dealt with TuneCore for digital distribution and they do a “flat fee” model where we pay a yearly fee on each album or song to be listed and then, using the TuneCore website, we keep track of the money that comes in and initiate payment when we choose. It’s all pretty transparent and has worked well for us. We have also used CDBaby for digital and physical distribution, and they do take a percentage like you’ve described. We only use them for physical distribution now.

    I do hope that you are able to sort out your issue soon, as it is obviously a very stressful situation and such things do take their toll on creative people. Best wishes!

    I was worried because there are simply countless scammers out there and I was afraid I had become one of the scammed.

    I want to order this soooo bad. I was really bummed when I went to click on itunes and it said Stormwinds wasn’t available. *tears*
    Hopefully this will get resolved soon, the song sounds beautiful (from the little preview, and your voice is so wonderful!) The lyrics are really well written to Ru, I really can’t wait to hear the entire track.
    I guess on one of my in between paychecks I’ll just have to order a signed photo of you! That is so cool you offer that on here! Thanks for being so awesome and my artistic idol.
