Dios De Los Muertos/Halloween in LA

I went to The Hollywood forever cemetary where they have an annual feast for the day of the dead. There were hundreds of people all in costumes and all with day of the dead face makeup on it was brilliant! I cannot believe I never went before It was so much fun!!! As many of you In Other countries may not know about the day of the dead celebrations here in LA I thought I would post a bunch of pictures so that you could share the experience!:) I had run out of time to get a costume together so I went as a Flamenco Dancer (I have several full flamenco skirts and outfits because I dance.)These were taken with my Iphone so please forgive if they are a little blurry, You will still be able to get a feel for the evening I hope:)

Blackened Salmon Recipe and Exciting news..

I posted My Blackened Salmon Recipe and a recipe for broiled Asparagus too under the flavor and recipes section of the Favorites.:)

Now… for my exciting news!!! I wrote a children’s story last year, It is one that I used to tell to my own family and they suggested that I do it as a book. Having never published a book this seemed a little daunting at first.

Real Music for Music Fans MY WAY. You are making this happen.

I want to write a little bit about My music and why YOU are so important and have been so instrumental in my being able to do this. The music industry used to be very different as many of you already know. The record label decided when, where and how you were going to make music, if at all. A few years ago, I was in a major label bidding war. You’d think that was a good thing but it was NOT. They wanted me to change everything, from the way I look, to my lyrics, to the very style of the music I wanted to do.

questions and answers about my artwork….

I was asked an interesting question about the rust art I have been making. The question was how I came about making this kind of art, what inspired me, etc.

Well……A close friend of mine who knew I made art (I was not showing yet at this time) asked me if I would like to be a part of an art benefit. It was a group called H.O.P.E. They raise funds for the Orphans of Darfur. What they do is the woman in the couple who are the main duo core of the HOPE organization will choose a photograph once a year that she has taken. This photograph is then given to several different local artists who are then asked to do a piece based on the photograph, in other words their interpretation of the image.
